031. Field exercises on ecology, conservation biology.

Course Requirements: Permission of instructor.

Course Description: A field-oriented ecology course that focuses on
conservation biology issues in various habitats.  Emphasis on factors
(including forest management practices), which affect the breeding
success of songbirds. Students will learn techniques for conducting
ecological research in the field and will gain familiarity with
Indiana’s natural history. Some Field trips will meet at earlier times
than scheduled.

Required Text: None.

Weekly Assignments: Several articles from journals.

Exams/Papers: Two papers based on field projects.
