(3cr.) Health concerns unique to women are emphasized, including the
most contemporary health issues.  Special attention is devoted to
each woman comfortably understanding her own body, as well as to
prevention, early recognition, and amelioration of health problems.
Course topics, which address the multidimensional and gender specific
nature of health, include: gynecological and menstrual health
throughout the life cycle, menstrual cycle and other irregularities,
sexually transmissible and non-transmissible infections and
infestations, birth control, sexuality, infertility, sexual assault,
nutritional needs, cardiovascular disease, exercise, gynecological
and other cancers, smoking effects and related consequences,
autoimmune disorders, and health consumerism.
