Philosophy | Thinking and Reasoning
P105 | 0472 | Kimble

In this course we will study the basic elements in correct
reasoning, drawing on notions from both informal and formal logic.
Students will learn how to recognize and identify arguments, analyze
various argument structures, detect fallacies, and asses the
validity and strengths of arguments by applying various formal and
informal procedures. We will rigorously apply these tools and
methods in evaluating "every day life" examples of reasoning and
arguments.

Written work for the course will consist of regular homework
assignments, quizzes, and three exams.
