This course examines the historical background of six major global
issues that we confront at the beginning of the twenty-first
century:  terrorism; globalization and the relationship between big
business and government; US leadership and the rest of the world;
rich and poor nations; genetically engineered crops, food safety,
and the world food supply; and global health.

There are three examinations, each covering material studied between
exams.  Review sessions.

Readings for the course will include books, essays, and selections
from the internet.
