Course Description: Structure and function of DNA, RNA, and protein.
The genetic code, transcription, translation, and DNA replication.
Introduces molecular biology technology.  Includes mechanisms and
regulation of gene expression and DNA damage and repair.

Required Text: "Molecular Biology of the Gene"

Weekly Assignments: learning group worksheets, readings from
textbook.

Exams/Papers: Two or three midterm exams, comprehensive final and
evaluation of work conducted in learning groups.
