J500: Instruction in the Context of Curriculum
Summer I: T/Th, 5-8 pm
Instructor: Dr. Robert Kunzman (rkunzman@indiana.edu)
This course will explore current issues in K-12 curriculum and their
relationship to the goals and practices of teaching. We will
explore the various forces (social, political, pedagogical,
philosophical) that influence the development and enactment of
curriculum, and consider how they interact to produce opportunities
for student learning. We will analyze specific examples of
contemporary curricular reform, particularly those reforms proposed
or underway in course participants’ own schools or other
professional contexts.
