Course Description: Structure and function of DNA, RNA, and protein.
Transcription, translation, DNA replication, recombination, DNA
damage and repair – covers historical experiments, as well as
current techniques in molecular biology.

Required Text: "Molecular Biology of the Cell", fourth edition.

Weekly Assignments: readings from text and other materials, problem
sets.

Exams/Papers: weekly quizzes, weekly problem sets, one midterm exam,
one comprehensive final.
