Course Format: Lab: 8:00A-1:00P, TR, JH031.

Course Requirements: Permission of instructor. Can only take either
L474 or L465.

Course Description:  This is a hands-on field oriented ecology
course. Field exercises are designed to test basic ecological
hypotheses while at the same time being exposed to an array of
Indiana habitats.  Students will learn how to construct and test
hypotheses and design their own experiments to examine issues
ranging from physiological ecology to population biology and
community ecology.  We will work with plants, mycorrhizae and,
stream macroinvertebrates.

Required text: Field manual

Weekly assignments:  Readings from the lab manual and occasional
papers from the primary literature.

Exams/Papers: One to two lab reports per week (about 8 in all).
Participation in all exercises is a crucial part of this course.
