Criminal Justice-COAS | Women and Criminal Justice
P425 | 11469 | Herrera

Women’s involvement in crime has been historically overlooked in
theory, research, and programming. Since much of the information
about crime and the criminal justice system is presented in relation
to men, a course focused on women fills a tremendous gap in the
criminal justice discourse. The goal of this course is to provide a
general understanding of women’s participation and role in the
criminal justice system. Topics include the study of women as
victims (domestic violence and rape), offenders, and prisoners, as
well as their treatment within the criminal justice system.

Class meeting: Daily, 1:10-2:25
