Labor Studies | Perspectives on Inequality in America
L290 | 12509 | Modibo, Najja

This is a web-based course offered through OnCourse.

3 cr hrs. Class number 12509 First Summer. This course will examine
poverty in America, focusing primarily on the experiences of the
working poor in the inner city; however, we recognize poverty as a
national problem with gender, ethnic, and class dimensions. The
poverty that is experienced by inner city residents is thus used as
a mirror to recognize larger socio-economic problems that involve
the state, schools, and trade unions, as well as small and large
private institutions in our capitalistic society. Instructor: Najja
Modibo, DLS, IUPUI.
