THIS COURSE MAY NOT BE TAKEN FOR GRADUATE CREDIT

The focus of this course is on diversity in sexuality from a
sociological perspective. We will explore the behavioral and social-
psychological aspects of a range of human sexual variations, focusing
primarily but not exclusively on sexuality in the United States. We
will examine the intersections of sex, sexuality, and gender; the
experiences of sexual minorities; cultural attitudes and scripts
regarding sexual behavior; medicalization; unusual sexual practices;
and pornography. Lectures, readings, discussions, films, and one or
more guest speakers will provide a multi-dimensional overview. Course
material includes sexually explicit imagery and language. Please do
not sign up for this course if such material will offend you.
