Criminal Justice-COAS | Introduction to Criminal Justice
P100 | 1878 | Edge

Everyone seems to have opinions about crime: what it is, what causes
it, and what should be done with those who commit it. In this
course, our primary focus will be on what should be, can be, and is
done to those who commit crimes. An historical overview of the
criminal justice system will be provided, including examination of
its key components: police, court and corrections subsystems.
Moreover, the influence of the media and of popular culture on
perceptions of criminal justice agencies and agents will be explored.

Class meeting: 11:45-1:00, Monday-Friday, Ballentine 252
