This graduate level course is designed to provide an examination of
the principles and practices inherent in the emerging field of
Therapeutic Outdoor Programs (TOP). Topics covered include the
historical development of TOP, research-based findings, specific
processing, facilitation and intervention techniques for therapeutic
populations in outdoor settings, issues and trends in TOP, and
emerging developments in therapeutic and managerial adaptations for
the field. There will be an overnight field trip incorporated into
the class, with an additional fee required for transportation. (3
credits)
