Roles and responsibilities of speech-language pathologists in the
medical arena with clients ranging the lifespan will be reviewed and
discussed.  Topics to be investigated include:  continuum of care,
interdisciplinary approach, pharmacology, terminology, client
advocacy and accreditations, among others.  Class format will include
lecture, didactic discussion, student project presentations and
visiting speakers.

Grades will be assigned based on:  formal presentation on a related
topic of student selection, written interpretation of medical
records, development of an assessment and treatment plan based on
case history and student attendance/participation.
