Elementary Swahili (S101/102) is the beginning course aimed at
introducing Swahili language to beginners. This course is divided into
two sections (S101 and S102) each corresponding to the equivalent of
one academic semester. The course is designed to meet the 5cís of the
foreign language learning standards i.e. Communication, Cultures,
Connections, Comparisons and Communities. At the end of the course
students are expected to be able to apply the basic learned skills
through speaking, listening, reading, and writing. It is also expected
that students will be able to understand and appreciate the culture,
traditions and customs of the Swahili speakers.
