Y490 | 9718 | Armando Razo

This seminar will critically examine contemporary debates about the
political and economic impact of globalization with an emphasis on,
but not restricted to, developing countries. Selected topics include
the impact of enhanced economic integration on domestic and global
governance, public policies to reduce poverty and inequality, the role
of civil society in a global context, globalization and the Internet,
and new forms of political organization such as transnational
networks. Class discussions will be supplemented with video clips
from cases across the World in order to explore different contexts in
which debates about globalization debates take place.
