Eudora Welty, as well as the following novels: CHRIST IN CONCRETE, by
Pietro di Donato; THE CATCHER IN THE RYE, by J. D. Salinger; ONE FLEW OVER
THE CUCKOO'S NEST, by Ken Kesey; CEREMONY, by Leslie Marmon Silko; and THE
COLOR PURPLE, by Alice Walker.
Two papers in addition to a midterm and final essay exam will be required.
