PLEASE NOTE: This course will be taught in Graz, Austria, as part of the
Graz Overseas Study Program. (No section will be offered on the
Bloomington campus.)

Three credit hour course.

There is no prerequisite for this course.

An introduction to Austrian culture and its roots. Family, education,
social structure, economy, the arts, customs and traditions; identity
of the Second Republic, historical relationship with Germany. Lectures
and readings mostly in English. Grades based on brief reports,
frequent quizzes, class participation, and two essay examinations.
G262 carries culture studies credit in COAS, and counts toward the
minor in German.
