S428 Applied Spanish Linguistics (3 credits) Linguistics course
P: S311 or equivalent
This course provides an analysis of the Spanish language from a linguistic
perspective. S428 is organized around the following topics: orthography,
phonetics, phonology, morphology of the verb and noun, and syntax.
Evaluation will be based on two exams, occasional quizzes, homework, class
participation, and a cumulative final exam. Graduate students will write a
short paper. Regular daily attendance and participation are required.
Students should read and write out the homework assignments before class.
This course will be taught in Spanish.
