COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This course is designed to provide students hands-on experiences in fitness
instruction and testing. Each student will assist in the E119 Personal
Fitness
instructional program. Arranged labs will be concerned with gaining
practical
experience doing basic testing skills such as blood pressure, flexibility,
body
composition (skinfolds) and submaximal graded exercise testing. The
technical
skills covered are in line with the American College of Sports Medicine
certification
standards.
COURSE OBJECTIVES:
-to gain practical experience in physical fitness testing.
-to gain hands-on experience in personal fitness instruction and
consultation.
-to improve the ability to communicate and apply fitness concepts and
principles.
