Description: Introduction to computers in parks, recreation, sport and
tourism management. Emphasizes communication applications, e.g., e-mail,
e-conference, word processing, Internet, Intranet, e-meeting.
Goals: Prepare students to purchase a computer and use it in the workplace.
Objectives: This course is designed to help the student achieve the
following:
1. To understand how computers are being utilized in his/her area of
interest within park, recreation, sport and tourism management
2. To determine how he/she can utilize computers to improve his/her
productivity and efficiency now and after college
3. To identify the essential components of the computer system most
appropriate for his/her career needs
