The course will examine methods for responding to crime outside of
the traditional criminal justice system, as well as innovative crime
reduction/prevention programs within these traditional institutions.
Specific areas to be examined include the family, schools,
neighborhoods/communities, and the media, as well as interventions
originating from within the police, courts, and correctional systems.
