This course introduces the basic tools and techniques of linguistic
analysis. Students will be introduced to the basics of phonological
and phonetic theory, morphological analysis, and phrase structure

of a variety of languages. The course will emphasize analytical
methods and problem solving, rather than comprehensive factual
knowledge.
