An examination of community level theoretical perspectives and their
practical application to community based policing movements in urban
settings. Included will be a critical historical analysis of police
community relations, policing research as it applies to the community
level, policy implications of current community based programs, as
well as a cultural examination of the role of the police in the
neighborhood setting.
