This course is intended as an introduction to the issues of
dysphagia in
infants, children and adults. Course goals include developing an
understanding of: normal anatomy and physiology of swallowing; the
etiologies and components of abnormal swallow physiology; clinical
and
instrumental assessment procedures and diagnoses; working within a
team
structure; how to develop a remediation plan; and applying
principles of
treatment. There is a required text and an additional packet of
materials
for purchase.
