This course will explore the expressive culture of Native American
and First Nation’s peoples. A survey of folklore genres including
oral literature, art and material culture, song, dance and worldview
of Native North American groups will be presented through lecture,
discussion, readings and films. The diversity of Native North
American cultures will be emphasized in both historical and present
day situations.
