THIS COURSE MAY NOT BE TAKEN FOR GRADUATE OR CULTURAL STUDIES CREDIT.

This course is designed to take us away from our personal and private
views and experiences of families and examine the family as a dynamic
social institution.  Throughout the course we will examine broad
social patterns and changes as they relate to contemporary families.
We will examine common-sense knowledge from a more inquisitive and
critical vantage point.
