This course is an introduction to the study of crime and deviance.
We will explore how crime is defined and measured, patterns of
crime, and the various ideas that have been advanced to explain
criminal activity.  Close attention is given to the relationship
between ideas and observations, theory and empirical evidence.
Finally, we will consider the ways in which individuals, groups, and
society reacts to crime.

Class meeting:  Daily, 11:30-12:20
