This course offers hands-on experience in experimental methods
in developmental psychology. Students will carry out a project from
start to finish, including: formulating hypotheses, learning about
the protection of human subjects and the ethics of research,
planning and executing experimental testing/data collection and data
coding, data analyses, and interpretation and write-up of results in
a journal-style article. In carrying out the project, students will
be required to read several research articles, to perform literature
searches for the required research paper, to contact and test
subjects, to write the research paper in sections over the course of
the semester, and to critique other studentsí research papers.
