This course will cover various aspects of 'Fear of Crime'. Topics
will include the relationship between fear and risk, the geography
of fear, public policy and fear reduction, and fear as social
control. The geography of fear will include a look at how fear
affects movement and behavior in space, spatial justice, and public
policy and architectural initiatives to reduce fear. We will also
examine how fear of crime works as social control and influences
political and consumer behavior.
