June 23–July 3
The focus of this course is on how to plan appropriate learning
experiences for all young children (birth through age 8). We will
examine what developmentally appropriate practices mean for children
with special needs, and how to design curricula and learning spaces
to meet the needs of individual children. The course will be a
combination of class discussions, hands-on learning activities, in-
class group projects, and guest speakers. The course will be taught
using interactive video connections among IU Bloomington, IUPUI and
the University of Southern Indiana. It will be offered as a two-week
intensive courses. This course meets daily from 9:00 a.m. to 1:30
p.m. There will be no class meeting on July 4.
