A multi-faceted introduction to various aspects of the culture of
ancient Greece--government and politics, art and architecture,
literature, religion and mythology, medicine, athletics and the
role of women.  Some of the reading is in the original sources,
allowing students to confront the culture with great immediacy;
for the same reason slides are frequently shown during class
lectures.
