Topic: Contemporary Short Story

This course will explore the themes and narrative techniques of those
writers who since the approximate mid-century have distinguished themselves
in the genre of short fiction. Selected works by Borges, Bombal, Carpentier,
Cortázar, Arreola, Monterroso, García Márquez and Roa
Bastos will serve as the basis for the course.
