Indiana University is seeking a tenured faculty member for the position of Dean for Women's Affairs at the Bloomington campus.

Position Description

The Dean for Women's Affairs is responsible for enhancing opportunities for women on campus by serving as an advocate for women students, staff, and faculty. The Dean develops and oversees programs designed to improve educational and professional opportunities for women.

Issues that come before the Office for Women's Affairs include career development, workplace conflict, sexual harassment, personal safety as well as more general issues of gender equity. The Office for Women's Affairs monitors and assesses the status of women on campus and promotes policies to improve and strengthen the standing of women at Indiana University.

The successful candidate will be a tenured member of the Bloomington faculty with a record of leadership and administrative effectiveness. The Dean should have a demonstrated commitment to women's issues and ability to work with diverse interest groups.

This is a twelve month 50% administrative appointment beginning July 1, 2008. The Dean for Women's Affairs reports directly to the Provost of the Bloomington campus.
