OWA Annual Award Ceremony and Reception to be held May 7
The IU Office for Women's Affairs (OWA) Annual Award Ceremony and Reception will be held on Monday, May 7, 2012, from 4-6pm in the IMU Federal Room. It is part of OWA's 40th anniversary celebratory events. To be honored this year are Dr. Ellen Ketterson, Ms. Caroline Dowd-Higgins, Ms. Jitka B. Horne, Ms. Wendeline Poppy, and State Representative Peggy Welch. Winners of the Women's History Month Creative Works and Essay Contest and participants in the Partnering for Faculty Advancement Mentoring Program will also be honored. Interim Provost Dean Robel will present the awards and offer remarks.
In addition to praising the honorees for their contributions to IU and the Bloomington community, this event is an opportunity to relax and enjoy good food and wonderful company. As part of the Office for Women's Affairs 40th Anniversary Celebration, there will be a timeline display, featuring some of OWA's events over the last 40 years. All faculty, staff, and students are welcome to attend.
