Spring 2009 -- Volume 1 Issue 1 [ Return to Table of Contents ] Kudos! Christianne Medrano wins National Award
At IU, Chris served as first author for the National Multicultural Greek Council Resource Manual for Fraternity and Sorority Advisors. She conducted research on the college selection and admissions process for undocumented college students and on Thomas I. Atkins, the first Black IU student body president and the first to serve in this capacity of all the Big Ten Schools. Chris submitted a paper with her advisor, Dr. Vasti Torres, and their research team on "The Connections between Latino Ethic Identity and Adult Experiences," and she is currently working with Dr. Sylvia Martinez and our research team on another paper, "The Influence of Family Dynamics on Racial/Ethnic Identity among Adult Latinas." As a DEMA staff member and graduate assistant, Chris works on program planning. "I love doing it! Currently we are working on coordinating the Graduation Ceremonies for the Spring Graduation." Congratulations to Chris!
