Celebrate Black History Month in Bloomington and at IU

Saturday, February 1, 2014

February is Black History Month.  The City of Bloomington events planned in celebration include a Black History Month kick-off and reception, an essay competition for grades 4-12 students, and the annual Black History Month gala.  The community joins in the celebration as well with programs such as the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority annual pancake breakfast and a Black History Month concert at the Second Baptist Church.  The annual African American Read-In will take place at IU's Neal-Marshall Black Culture Center, and WTIU public TV will air Black History Month specials. For details about these events and more, visit the City of Bloomington's Black History Month web page.
