WRTV6 interviews Hudson and Holland Scholar Brittany Harvey
Wednesday, February 26, 2014
Brittany Harvey met with Marc Mullins, RTV6 reporter and anchor of "Good Morning Indiana," on Mon., Feb. 24, 2014, to talk about the United Negro College Fund. Brittany is a junior at IU Bloomington majoring in political science. She is also a Hudson and Holland Scholar. The interview was part of the RTV6 tribute to Black History Month and was hosted by the Neal-Marshall Black Culture Center.
Brittany always knew that she wanted to go to college. With determination, she found the way. The way was the United Negro College Fund.
Founded in 1944 to bring educational equality, the United Negro College Fund—with its catch phrase, "A mind is a terrible thing to waste"—has helped more than 400,000 students receive college degrees. The UNCF slogan has changed with the times and challenges: "A mind is a terrible thing to waste, but a wonderful thing to invest in."
Brittany Harvey is giving back by volunteering at UNCF events, answering questions from high school students, and helping them fill out UNCF applications.
