Indiana Latino Expo on May 3
Saturday, April 5, 2014
Plan to attend the third annual Indiana Latino Expo on Saturday, May 3, 2014, from 8am-6pm at the Indiana State Fairgrounds Champions Pavilion (1202 E. 38th St., Indianapolis).
The all-day event is free of charge and bilingual.
The health fair portion of the expo will offer free health services related to obesity, diabetes, mammograms, health screenings, HIV/AIDS, and more.
The education area will provide information on preschool, elementary, middle, and high school opportunities, scholarships, university admissions, and continuing education–both academic and technical–for students of all ages.
Product information booths, seminars, financial education, and more can be found in the business area.
There will be sports activities and entertainment during the day.
Volunteers are needed for 3-hour shifts; you are welcome for the whole time or multiple shifts. Opportunities will include greeting, helping with sports activities, and assistance with entertainment and general operational tasks. Opportunity also for bilingual English/Spanish speakers throughout the event. If you are interested in helping, please respond to Jorge Thiebaud at firstname.lastname@example.org or (317) 319-4016.
The Indiana Latino Expo is held each year to foster a community where Latino individuals and families can achieve their highest potential, reflect pride in their culture, and are integrated into the community. To bring that vision into reality, the expo provides awareness of opportunities for economic advancement, enhanced quality of life, education and cultural awareness, and health and wellness for Latinos in Indiana.
