IU Latino Faculty and Staff Council accepting Latino awards nominations through Mar. 21

The Latino Faculty and Staff Council (LFASC) Latino Awards recognize important contributions by Indiana University undergraduate students, graduate students, faculty, and staff. LFASC wishes to distinguish and empower individuals whose efforts have contributed to a positive campus environment in tandem with helping support retention of Latinos at Indiana University. It is also meant to highlight exemplary academic and professional work.
The following awards will be presented to individuals or groups who have participated in service, mentoring, or promoting diversity initiatives that enhance and support Latinos on campus. It also recognizes individuals, groups, or events that have developed awareness/programs in the area of culture, arts, health, economy, language, or education. Five awards will be presented. These include one award for each of the following categories:
- Distinguished Faculty
- Distinguished Staff
- Distinguished Graduate Student
- Distinguished Undergraduate Student
- Distinguished Group or Event

Recipients of the awards will be recognized at the Latino Faculty and Staff Council End of the Year Reception on April 25, 2014, at 6pm at Oliver Winery.
