Boxcar Books offers textbook stipend Since the passing of sb590, the Boxcar Books has been offering a textbook stipend to students affected by the bill to help ease the financial burden placed on students who are undocumented. Any student in Bloomington affected by sb590 should apply by August 1, 2012. To request an application form or if students are not able to apply by the August 1 deadline with all of the information about required books, please send an e-mail to taylor@boxcarbooks.org. Boxcar Books will try to work out the books needed and help students get the most possible out of the stipend. The cost can be covered for any books that Boxcar is able to order directly. If Boxcar is not able to order the books that a student needs, there is a $1,000 stipend to be split among everyone who applies to reimburse individuals for books that they have had to find and purchase on their own. A copy of the receipt must be presented to Boxcar Books in order to receive the reimbursement. | |
