Selections for the 2013 program have been finalized. We have issued letters, via U.S. postal mail, indicating the admission status of each applicant. In fairness, we will not provide the names of 2013 campers by phone or email. Thank you.

Camp Overview:

“Adventures in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math” at Indiana University is a two-week, academic, residential camp that provides activities, experiments, projects, and field experiences for students who will be entering 6th, 7th, or 8th grade in the fall of 2013. The camp promotes science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education, and historically supports underserved and underrepresented students who have limited opportunities. Students attend the camp free of charge. Campers receive an introduction to college life and interact with teachers, university faculty, professionals, and college students with experience in areas such as biology, chemistry, physics, astronomy, mathematics, environmental and earth sciences, engineering and design concepts, medicine, public health, computer science, and informatics.

Program Model:

The core curriculum is integrated with field excursions and other educational experiences that enrich students’ understanding of the practical relationships between classroom work and the real world. Communication and teamwork are integral parts of the students’ educational experience. Students engage in an array of extracurricular activities during the non-class time.

Location:

The camp will be held on the campus of Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana. Students will be housed in a dormitory on the university campus.

Camp Date:

The 2013 camp will start on Sunday, June 16, 2013 and will end on Friday, June 28, 2013.
