“Although, P.S. excelled at school in various subjects, he left the STEM Camp with a greater appreciation of science and math. The activities that were packed in those 12 days were both educational yet fun. The hands-on experiments that required teamwork and endurance, helped him realized how math and science play an integral part of his everyday life. Not to mentioned, the various field trips afforded him the opportunity to see the many professions of those fields –from the classroom to the inventors of video games. Most importantly, having the opportunity to experience the life of a college student living on campus in the dorms, eating in the cafeteria, and using the faculties was an awesome experience for any 13 year old. I think this experience afforded my son the opportunity o see and experience science and math on a different level that has raised his level of understanding of this field and even peeked his interest.”

“STEM summer camp strengthened S.S.’s love for science and math tenfold. I was not sure his passion for science and math could ever increase, but it has. When he came home from camp he recreated many of his experiences either by talking us through them or having us redo experiments he did in camp with him. He continues to seek out ways to learn more in science and math. He always wants to learn and do more in those areas. Unfortunately, we are limited by a rural area and as parents are often unsure of how to assist him in forging ahead.
Also, after learning more about cancer at STEM camp, he has spent time thinking of ways and ideas he could contribute as he gets older to curing this disease. He took many of things learned at STEM to spark his thinking of ways he could help cure this disease.
