The Committee on Distinguished Professorships wishes to bring to your attention the opportunity for submitting nominations for Distinguished Professorships. A Distinguished Professorship is the most prestigious academic appointment at Indiana University , and may be held simultaneously with an endowed or named chair.
Complete procedures for nominating and appointing individuals to this rank are available in the “Procedure for Nominations for Distinguished Professorships” below. Nominators should be sure to review the guidelines regarding preparation of the dossier as well as the criteria involved in the review process.
The deadline for submission of dossiers for consideration for the 2008-2009 school year is October 16th, 2008. Two copies of the nomination dossier, with full supporting evidence should be submitted on or before October 16th, 2008. Nominations should be mailed or carried to the University Distinguished Professors Committee, Board of Trustees, University Ceremonies Office, IMU M005, Indiana University , Bloomington , Indiana 47405 .
