Data Management Services is a group within University Information Technology Services (UITS). We are dedicated to providing a broad range of data solutions to offices, departments, and individuals at Indiana University and beyond.
Data and Web Services
We provide data and web services for the following:
Database and Web Server Access for Instruction
We offer accounts for learning database and web server applications. Most of these accounts are restricted to class use, and thus only instructors of database or web server courses can request them for their classes. However, DMS does provide Oracle database accounts to IU students, faculty, and staff for independent learning about SQL and Oracle.
- Oracle Database Server for instruction
- Apache/Tomcat (Mentor environment) for instruction
- Microsoft SQL Server and IIS for instruction
- Individual Oracle accounts for independent learning
- Request form for database and web server accounts for technology courses
Geographic Information Systems Services
Our Geographic Information Technologies (GIT) group provides support for software vendors such as ESRI and Leica Geosystems. GIT provides services in the following areas:
- Email Alerts and Events Notifications (listservs)
- GIS Resources available at IU (software, education and people using GIS)
- GIS Software maintained by UITS
- License Services (trouble-shooting license service errors)
- Purchasing (How to order software)
- Spatial Data
- Technical Support
