Calico Aster (Aster lateriflorus)

Native perennial of moist meadows, floodplain forests, swamps, and damp woodlands

Slight to partial sun and moist to medium conditions

Blooms white around a yellow to red-purple center, August - October

Grows 1 - 3 ft. .

Faunal Associations:

    • Short-tongued bees
    • Wasps
    • Flies
    • Some caterpillars
    • Cottontail rabbits
    • White-Tailed Deer

Fun Fact: The common name references the variety of colors of the disk florets
