My research area is lexical semantics and Japanese linguistics in general. I have been investigating theoretical issues of verb meaning including the internal structure of verb meaning and children's acquisition of it. I have worked on a wide range of topics in Japanese linguistics. I am Editor-in-Chief of Journal of Japanese Linguistics.
