Welcome!
IL/IN East Asia National Resource Center Consortium
-
The East Asian Studies Center, in partnership with the Center for East Asian and Pacific Studies (EAPS) at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, has been named a Comprehensive National Resource Center for the Study of East Asia by the U.S. Department of Education. Recognized for their combined strengths in the teaching of East Asia and East Asian languages as well as outreach to K-12 teachers, business, and community, the consortium brings together the largest East Asia faculty concentration in the Midwest.
A special consortium initiative, Science and Technology in the Pacific Century (STIP), will bring together East Asian and U.S. scholars, students, and policy makers to consider the impact of East Asian science and technology on business and society in both East Asia and the U.S. The initiative builds on Indiana’s expertise in the biological and information sciences and on Illinois’s national profile in agriculture and engineering.
