East Asian Box Lessons

Each box lesson contains cultural artifacts and suggested activity plans to assist in creating an understanding of East Asian culture among your students.

Box lessons are available for rent by any U.S. teacher. To obtain one or more of the East Asian box lessons, please submit a credit card payment of $50 (per each box) through IU Pay Plus to the East Asian Studies Center as a deposit for the upkeep of the materials. After receiving the payment notification, we will ship the box lesson of your choice (depending on availability) to your school. From the time you receive the box lesson, you will have two weeks to use it and ship it back to us. If we receive the box with all materials undamaged, the $50 hold will be taken off your credit card.

Before requesting a box lesson, we recommend that you check its availability by calling (812) 855-3765 or e-mailing easc [at] indiana [dot] edu.

To order one or more of the box lessons, please complete both the reservation form and payment by credit card through IU Pay Plus. Once we receive your reservation request, we will contact you to confirm the date requested. Please understand that we may not be able to fulfill all reservation requests.
