Program Abstract: "After their victory over the Shogunate's troops at the Battle of Toba-Fushimi, the Satsuma-Choshu forces finally succeed in a bloodless tae-over of the Edo Castle. However, many former Shogunate troops, such as the Navy who refuse to surrender their warship and the Shogi-tai corps who shut themselves up in Ueno, try to escape or revolt. With careful maneuvers to prevent the war from reaching Edo, Masujiro Omura destroys the Shogi-tai corps. From this day, Tokugawa's Edo is gone forever. The Nagaoka clan led by Iinosuke Kawai, who has troubled the new government, runs away in defeat, and the Boshin War is concluded with the closing of the Goryo Castle in Hakodate. While making efforts to establish new military services and build military facilities under the new government, Masujiro is mortally wounded by an assassin. To sum up, Masujiro suddenly appears when history needs him and leaves in a great hurry as soon as his mission is completed."
